When making cs you have a known purity of the silver (I hope), typically 3 or 4 nines. When using 14 ga. cu house wire how pure is the copper?.. there is probably arsenic (not much) and many other heavy metals in the cu wire, its not 'food grade' copper wire, the way high purity silver wire is.
