Colloidal silver can be used for most situations in which one might need to kill bacteria, funguses or viruses. This includes, but is not limited to: Lyme disease, sinus infections, bronchial infections, skin problems of various sorts, colds and flus, general immune system support, Aids, tooth and gum support, warts, candida, eye infections/irritations, food poisoning, etc. It is also useful for purifying water, disinfecting fruits and vegetables, a disinfectant for home canned foods, killing shower fungus, or fungus on plants, disinfecting cutting boards and almost any other household uses that one can think of. It is also useful for treating pets - do a search on whatever sort of pet you have for further info. One thing to keep in mind when using colloidal silver is the possibility that it can have an effect on beneficial bacteria in the gut, much as antibiotics do. There is some evidence in research done on animals that colloidal silver can deplete beneficial bacteria in the digestive system. Most list members have not noticed any disruption of gut function from use of CS, however, if you are concerned, beneficial flora can be replaced by the use of pro-biotics or Acidophilus and Bifidus supplements. Here are some of the ways in which members on this list have used CS. You will see that there are many different possible dosages and methods of use vary from person to person. At the end of this compilation there are suggestions of things it would be unwise to do with colloidal silver. Just poured low ppm cs on cotton balls and squeezed it on my toes. Actually used very little cs but did it two nights in a row. The lesions between the toes cleared up by the third day. David Reese Bronchitis: A number of members have used colloidal silver in a nebulizer with great success for bronchitis. My husband used @ 50ppm cs in a nebulizer and inhaled in AM and PM for about 25 minutes each time and got rid of a nasty bronchitis in 24 hrs. Bronchitis: About 3 weeks ago my mom, E.B. got her "annual" fall bronchitis which last year lasted through all of winter. She took low ppm CS for 2 days and the bronchitis was totally gone. N.B. Chiggers: I have used CS for my son with heat rash, pimples, and also chiggers. It works great. I was surprised with the chiggers, these are little bugs that burrow under the skin, they are very hard to get rid of. I mixed some CS with some skin lotion and it worked great. Donna Deodorant: Several people on the list spray CS on their armpits and it works very well as a deodorant. Dry Eyes: CS is very helpful for my burning, dry eyes. Wonderful relief after 2 yrs. of real pain. Flu: Using 5 ppm product we have found that 2 to 4 oz will stop the flu dead in about an hour when it first appears. Once you have it bad, it may take 2 to 4 ounces every hour for 6 to 8 hours before you knock it out. Marshall Hydrocele: One of my teen sons experienced acute hydrocele. I gave him CS for two days before we could see the doctor. The swelling subsided and has not returned since. N.B. Lyme: My Lyme/CS story is online at http://oikourgos.com/silverworks. In short: I had unexplainable physical and neurological symptoms of all sorts for much of my life. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease in Aug., 1994. After 26 months of conventional antibiotics for Lyme disease (both oral and IV), I attained about 95% health. At that point I plateaued in healing but knew that the infection was still present in my body. I was sick of being on antibiotics that messed up my GI tract and appetite. With approval from my doctor, I discontinued the antibiotic therapy and began self-treatment with low (10ppm)ppm colloidal silver. Within two weeks of starting CS, strength, stamina, libido, creativity and much more were restored to me. In addition, all "last hold out" symptoms of Lyme disease were substantially reduced or gone, including aches in hands and feet, tinnitus, dyslexia, forgetfulness, brain fog, bone aches, muscle "anoxic drain" feeling, restless legs, ocular migraine (often triggered by fluorescent lighting) & mild recurrent headache. Since I've used CS for Lyme, most symptoms have been kept at bay and I feel better on average than I can remember. I still get mild symptoms but their occurrences are fewer and farther between. I take CS to keep Lyme in check now but do not use it daily any longer. N.B. My dad has taken CS for Lyme arthritis in his knees. He was literally hobbling around, struggling to climb stairs and get up from couches and chairs. He was also exhausted looking. He now reports that he's feeling better than ever and his arthritis is gone. He looks terrific. N.B. Lyme: Using homemade, clear, colorless CS at 27 ppm and taking two tablespoons every 36-48 hours I experienced herxing very similar to the herxing I experienced taking Metronidazole 750 mg per day. The herxing with CS was a bit stronger I thought and seemed to happen quicker. I was in the latter stages of wiping out my Lyme disease when I began taking CS. In 45 days on this CS I felt like I was almost symptom free. That is where I am at right now as I write this. Not taking any abx during this 45 days, just the CS. Myesthenia Gravis: My husband has myasthenia gravis. For approx. eight months he has been totally exhausted, dragging himself up the few steps into the house after work, and making it to the bed for the rest of the night. He started taking CS and within a few days he had enough energy to mow the lawn and stay up till 11 or 12 PM. I don't know what the ppm is. I don't test my CS. I give him 2-4 ounces two times a day. Carol Ryan Rosacea: I spritzed my face with 5 ppm homemade CS 3-4 times a day. The redness in my nose and cheeks was almost gone after six weeks as of this writing. Sinus infections: I put CS in a pump nasal spray bottle, preferably a glass one as found in health food stores for other nasal preparations. I initially used Innovative Natural Products Extra Strength Colloidal silver, which is rated at 500ppm but is probably much lower. I sprayed this into my nostrils as often as I felt like during the day. Sometimes I would hang my head upside down after spraying to let the CS get into my frontal sinuses. I also took the same CS and held a dropperful on my tongue against the roof of my mouth until I could feel my sinuses beginning to tingle. I would then swallow or spit out that mouthful, depending on if I felt I had had enough cs in my system and didn't want more. I would repeat the process until I really felt my sinuses draining. My sinus infection went away in 38 hrs. I later found that putting a few drops in my eyes helped in getting it into my sinuses. Two drops in each ear (not more or ears got clogged) also helped with the stuffiness in my ears. I now use a mix of the extra strength from INP and my own homemade and it seems to work as well. Katarina Skin Conditions: It doesn't cure, but helps greatly, with dandruff and itchy scalp and beard on my husband. Helps any skin condition including age spots. Helps acne. Sore Throat: I had a mild sore throat for months that I couldn't seem to get rid of no matter what I tried. Finally I tried gargling (3x day) with a mixture of home made HVAC colloidal silver and grapefruit seed extract (Citricidal). Sore throat gone in two days! Don't know which ingredient did the trick but I sure am glad to have succeeded with my self cure. Dennis Stye: I developed a stye in my eye and after applying @ 10 ppm cs by holding a capful over my eye and blinking it twice - they stye disappeared within 24 hours. Yvonne Tooth infection: My daughter developed toothache over the weekend and as we couldn't get to the dentist, I had her take a mouthful of @ 10 ppm cs and hold it there for about a minute. It did the trick! Yvonne Gum disease: Gargling and swishing CS around your mouth is very effective in killing germs which cause gum disease. Warts: several people on the list have applied cs mixed with aloe vera in a 50/50 mixture with great success Warts: Using homemade CS 27 ppm at a rate of two tablespoons every 36-48 hours a wart on my face began shrinking almost immediately and totally disappeared in less than 21 days. No external (topical) application of anything because the wart was too near my eye. Warts: A friend's daughter, T.T. had two planter's warts on one foot. After 2 nights of colloidal minerals (with colloidal silver) soaks to the warts, they turned black. After 3 weeks, the warts completely fell off. No medical intervention was sought. N.B. PETS: My Chihuahua, Buddy, got an unidentified upper respiratory infection which included a cough with clear sputum. I treated him with CS for about 3 weeks. The infection was well controlled and completely resolved. N.B. My adored Tonkinese cat developed a huge tumor a year ago : x-rays revealed a huge growth and the prognosis was not good. She couldn't even jump without losing her balance. It was at this time that I first heard about colloidal silver and I set to work immediately, giving her about a teaspoon of 10ppm per day (I added it to her water and food). Within three weeks the tumor had disappeared and today she is a happy, healthy girl with a regained waistline! Yvonne Sky (female 8 year old) was into a fight with 2 other dogs. She was badly mauled. Sky spent 1 1/2 hours in surgery. When she came home she did not get better. She had major corruption, smell and drainage. The third day after the vet visit I got hold of some Cs from my chiropractor. We sprayed her wounds. That afternoon the corruption went down and she started scabbing for the first time. As of this writing we are spraying her externally 2 or 3 times a day and gave her some internally in her water. She is healing nicely. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and we expect complete recovery in about a month. -- didn't know ppm. Robert Ratliff Terry and Maureen cured their dog of a painful case of spondylitis which was not responding to drugs by putting a tablespoon of CS in his evening meal for several months. THINGS NOT TO DO WITH COLLOIDAL SILVER Do not add to bread dough to prevent mold, it will kill the yeast, and it won't rise. Do not dump into your compost heap, bacteria do the work. Do not give by mouth to cows, or other animals that have multiple stomachs, and do not use on hay or straw to be fed to these animals. They require microbes in their first stomach to digest their food. Same with honeybees. Do not give to anyone that has a pacemaker or defibrillator. Colloidal metals can short out these devices. Although it works well when added to the soil of house plants to prevent mold, there is some question about it killing the nitrogen fixing bacteria when added to garden soil. This needs to be explored. Otherwise it makes a great viracide and fungacide on plants and crops. Do not use CS as a treatment to an established aquarium, as it will *destroy* the biological filter made up of bacteria in the gravel and/or filter system. The resulting dump of metabolites *and* the rapid rise in contamination after the filter (literally) dies, will make the tank uninhabitable very quickly.
