Dear Nicole, Dowsing has nothing to do with being pyschic. Energy is a very normal essential part of our bodies, (the electro magnetic pulses that run our hearts for example). I was taught to use two metal rods made from coat hangers, so we're not talking fancy here. We did several experiments with the rods, including walking through a room trying to feel different emotions (sad, angry, happy) and the rods would always cross if a person followed a person emoting angry thoughts, and would open if the person was thinking loving thoughts. And if a person follows the "angry" person and sends out loving thoughts, the rods will show that change....I guess it is a way of demonstrating such phrases as "the tension was so thick in that room, you could cut it with a knife", and "her smile lit up the room" I tried this out on some of my skeptical friends, where they held the rods, and they were amazed at how accurate these rods are. People who do feng Shui may use the rods to see if energy is collecting in certain places, and if you take rods into the bathroom, you will almost always find that just as our bodies eliminate physical waste, there is a similar energetic waste that collects there. Of course one of the original uses of dowsing rods was to find water underground.
Dowsing is somewhat similar, IMO, to kinesiology, don't know how it works exactly but it does. And if it assists you in identifying areas of weakness in health, and can help you change that to strengths then it may be worth your while to pursue this further. I'm sure if you did a search on the web, you could get more info. I went to one and she said that all she has done was gone further in learning about herbs and things...but I find it weird that she can tell me how long it will take me to get well and things like my sister has a virus in her heart and things very in depth in our bodies like that(my sister was there too..and got "dowsed"? too) I am quite religious..so it is weird and if doing this is anything like being phycic I want to stay CLEAR of it...it may sound like a dumb question?
