The HDPE resin is rated "Excellent" for storage of distilled water and
serum products; blood.
I have seen no yellowing of HVAC CS [Marx process] stored in HDPE.
Although I have not spent much time at it, it is not easy to get
information on resin surface charge characteristics.
I avoid PVC, for the usual reason; some of it in the past has been shown to
release plasticizers (sp?) into water.

Thanks for your response, but I don't know much about identifying the
different types of plastics. Can you tell me which ones are safe by the
recycle number? Since several people said hydrogen peroxide bottles are
safe, and they are #2, I assumed that #2 was safe. But there isn't a number
on the sprayer tops which look similar to what is on most plant misters.
Thanks again for any help you can provide.
