I have wondered about this SOO many times. All the discussions on keeping the CS pure, and yet certainly when it gets to our stomachs and blood there are many different things it could mix with.
I do know, from past experience though, there ARE some changes that occur, after brewing. I poured a small portion of a stable "brew" into a glass that had not been rinsed out, and it very quickly turned pink. Not sure what, but SOMETHING happened.
