Hi Toscano,

Is that called a "pig in a poke" or is it "pig in a brown bottle"?

As mentioned by myself and others, check for metallic silver
by putting some in a plastic baggy with about 10% H2O2 (3%)
and let sit for 24 hours. If any bubbles (they will stick to the
baggy surface), you got metal! The amount of H2O2 is not
critical, as the silver breaks it down and produces gas for days.

To check for ions, put some in another baggy and add a few
grains of table salt, swish around and in an hour or two it will
get slightly cloudy, but only if you had ions of silver. In time
you will be able to see silver chloride crystals on the bottom,
looking like the salt crystals you added, but not soluble!

(Plastic baggies are clean enough to prevent bad results
from a contaminated glass - soap will really screw you up)

You can of course have both elemental silver and ions, (most
cheap setups will) but the ideal is ALL ions, as there is then no
risk and a much much higher bio-availability and effectiveness.

While shopping today at a chain store called "Vitamin World" (in my opinion, some of their products are of dubious quality and origin) I found a brand of commercial CS I had never seen before. "Bio-Nutritional Formulas' SILVER SHIELD Colloidal Silver Solution...Premium Quality." Dark brown plastic (hmm...) bottle, 16 oz. for about $29.99. I purchased it, I have no way to test it myself, but one thing I noted which may be irrelevant anyhow is that usually the CS I make myself and the GNC brand when I must buy it both make my mouth sort of "tingle" and this brand does not.
