Anything you stick on your eyeball should be pretty chemically stable, so there is little likeleyhood that the CS wiill react with the lens itself, be it glass or plastic. The storage, cleaning solutions may be otherwise; a rinse in distilled water before contact with Ag sol may be a good idea. A more qualified chemist who knows what is in the lens maintaince solutions can probally offer a more valuable opinion. Ivan or Marshall come to mind. Since you can put CS directly in the eye, you should be able to put the contact lens in CS and then put it in the eye, or put CS in the eye with the lens in place on the eyeball. Surely if it is glass. But what if the plastic lens material has a surface charge which is negative? You might get a semi-silvered mirror effect, resulting in very interesting looking pupils, but without harm.
