My precious 18-month-old granddaughter is occasionally beset by bouts of shortness of breath which have been diagnosed as childhood asthma. It rips me up to hear her wheezing and gasping for breath, while always maintaining the sweetest, sunniest disposition of any toddler I have ever seen. The usual, conventional rounds of antibiotics have been worthless. The little scoot has had more antibiotic consumption in her 18 months than I have in my 53 years -- much more, at that. She also suffers from frequent ear infections, despite the fact that she had tubes put in both ears about 6 months ago. Her pediatrician is a well-meaning fellow, but, like most allopathic physicians, is not conversant with alternative medicine approaches to recovery and preservation of wellness.
My questions: 1. Is there any reason to believe that administration of CS drops in my granddaughter's ears would help eradicate recurring ear infections? 2. Is it possible that inhalation of a CS solution, administered via a spray bottle or atomizer, could help deal with the asthma problem? Though I have studied alternative remedies for most common ailments for almost 40 years now, asthma is a problem which I have never previously examined, as it has never appeared in my family or among my friends before. I don't know if it is viral or bacterial in origin or if it is some type of allergic reaction to environmental agents, for example. Do any of you have any ideas about whether CS could be helpful in these circumstances? Thank you. Christy -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
