Hi Sparrow, list folks! I believe this one never happened. The version that's circulating now must have been updated since I think it first appeared back in the mid 90's. It made a splash on the internet, but fizzled when folks tried to order transcripts of the show and found that Janet hadn't appeared on the date given, or any other date for that matter.
Urban legend. It is entirely believable to many of us, unfortunately. To the rest, it makes the believers look gullible and paranoid. Good propaganda, eh? However there *was* a genuine report released by the FBI, I think, called 'Project Megiddo' or somesuch that echoed these kinds of concerns in the context of Y2K preparations. So the idea isn't as far fetched as it might otherwise seem. Let's not continue this discussion topic, okay folks?
