It is really not necessary to get rid of Outlook Express to stop the vbs
viruses. One news service suggested that when using Win98 that one go into
control panel, install new software, and into windows setup. Go to
accessories and UNINSTALL visual basic scripting. With this uninstalled the
vbs is taken out of windows entirely. Win95 may work the same way, although
I am not sure. Personally, though, with all the stuff going around I would
not be without a good antivirus program which I keep updated. The visual
basic scripting has to be turned on for the file to be read, but I sure
wouldn't be without the antivirus program. I have never had a .vbs infected
file directed to me, but I have intercepted three, or, four other types of
virus in the past thirty days.

It is true, from what I understand, that non-windows based email programs
are less vulnerable to CERTAIN types of viruses, but I wonder about all.

Sorry to bother anyone. I got rid of Outlook Express because I'm afraid of
the worldwide viruses being directed to it and installed Eudora because
it's supposed to be not vulnerable. So, I'm trying to get it set up.

Thanks for your patience.
