If I delete Outlook Express do I have to replace it with anything? What
does it do? I don't think I've ever used it. I do have Norton AV 2000
installed.

Jim had some good points - "if you use its email feature then get Eudora
or use your browsers email feature, before you delete Outlook Express".
What he neglects to mention is that MS has NEVER told us about the
patches and you need to be a Guru to find all of them! When you find
them all, you will have to install up to 50, to fix all the problems with
Win95/98 and related programs. IE4 and 5 have similar hacker problems,
which require patches also. Yes, being the biggest, they get more attempts
to screw with their code but they are also the WORSE software vender
ever - blatant dis-regard for the user - they charge for upgrades, which
are little more then corrections to their sloppy work and it would cost ZERO
to email every registered user when a bug/fix is found. As an authorized
re seller, even I was never notified of bug fixes and had to wait on line, just
as you do, if you have a problem, plus they terminate support on old versions
within a year!
Sorry to be OT but this is important - I see daily access attempts at my
computer and wether a hacker, the IRS or Microsoft, (yes, they can all
look at your data, see where you visit, etc.) I have a right to my privacy
and do NOT believe I should have to daily seek out patches to a program
I paid for.
