Hi Roger and non-Rogers, I agree Roger. Except for unexpected discoveries, facts are generally the end result of a long line of "What If's".
The folks who are conceptually creative and good at "What If" are not all necessarily skilled in the crafts required to turn the "what if" into a fact or find out why it cannot be a fact. Some folks have extraordinary skills for turning ideas into physical reality but are not very good at generating the ideas. I am a bit of both of these types and have found that when I have exhausted all of the 5 or 6 ways I thought of to accomplish something, sometimes just an anecdote (some guy in Nebraska who went into his barn, took parts from his tractor, hay bailer, dead toaster and wires/welds them together and now is producing all the electricity for his farm.) is all I need for inspiration to find a workable solution for my goal. It all starts with ideas and we all need help with that. Ideas are reflections of experiences in personal history.
