Listers, Regarding CS salve: triethanolamine is listed in the "Martindale Extra Pharmacopoeia" thusly, "..may be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. Contact dermatitis has been reported following the use..following concern of the possible production of carcinogenic nitrosamines in the stomaach, the Swiss authorities restricted the use..to preparations for external use."
