Check the periodic table. Silver has an atomic weight of 108, heavy metals
start about 200. Silver is a transition metal.

http://www.chemicalelements.com/groups/transition.html lists the transition
metals
http://www.chemicalelements.com/elements/ag.html shows silver is a transition
metal.

Chemistry Images I. Transition Metal Systems

http://www.johnco.cc.ks.us/~csilla/transname.html Names of Ionic Compounds
containing Transition Metal Ions

http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/~matsci/Periodic_Table/elements/Ag.htm lists silver as a
transition metal.
http://www.anticorp.com/hardcorp/periodic/silver.htm lists silver as a
transition metal

I could probably find 100 more, since this is a simple chemistry question.
