To all interested list members:
Several years ago we discovered a very effective
alternative to the use of Streptomycin----as a treatment for Fire Blight
on pear trees (and others). The protocol involved the dilution of 1 cup
of 10 to 20 ppm CS in 1 gallon of water.....then spraying the solution
on the leaves (preferably in early morning or late evening, when the
transpiration cycle is most favorable). Be sure to direct the spray in
such a manner as to cover the bottom surface of the leaves....as well as
the top. This protocol was---in our experiments---equal or superior to,
the use of Streptomycin spray solutions (and much more economical). The
effectiveness of this modality can be strengthened through the addition
of 1/4 teaspoon of any common liquid dishwashing detergent, plus 1/2
cup of commercial H202 (3.5%)----per gallon of water.
I hope this information is of some interest.

                                Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
