Hi all, I have pulled out of storage my water distiller to make CS. I bought it in 93' so its an older version. I see the newer ones use charcoal filters (?). If anyone is familiar with the company: Pure Water Society, Inc.(Lincoln, Nebraska), any thoughts? Its an: SS-4, Midi-Still, Amps 9.0, Watts 1000. Its pure steam distillation process. Produces 1/2 gal. of distilled water in 1 1/2 hrs, or 1 gal. in 3 hrs. I know there was some discussion on the quality of store bought distilled water for making CS. I'm sure my machine will be a tad better, but is there anyway I can test this water for its quality/content? Also, on the back cover of the directions is a product called Lumen #2, cleaner and descaler which they sell. How often would one use this? I clean my coffeepot and iron with vinegar, husband uses a product called CLR for his coffee pot, which seem a little too "industrial" for my taste. Thanks. Terri
