I don't know if I mentioned it before but I have a newsclipping around here of a dog that was crippled from a car hitting it or arthritis or some other bone degenration thing and this vet cured the dog with accupuncture. There are now entire organizations of veterinary accupuncturists nationwide. you can find reference to the network online.
