According to Dr. Davis Williams the test for low thyriod is with an oral
thermometer placed in the arm pit just before one gets out of bed in the
morning, Normal should be 97.6. Mine sometimes goes as low as 96.2 and that
is bad.

Shake the thermometer down the night before and lay it by your bed. Do the
test before ever getting out of bed. It takes about 5 minutes.

The clinical test is generally worthless.
