hepa filters do an excellent job but will not remove viruses and mould spores. The installation if replacement filter elements has to be done carefully else they can be torn. They are expensive. What kind of toxins? If it is solvents then activated carbon filters may be OK. If its infectious contamination then ozone is good but make sure it is neutralised to a safe concentration for the occupants after it has . Ultraviolet is also good if the dust has been removed. Put in negative ion generators anyway to "polish" the air in the room. You could get advice from a reputable air conditioning consultant.
