Hi; this is a private reply to your post... I've been making CS for more than 2 years, and tried low and high-voltage CS and I like the high-voltage more. I'm using VERY good tap water. Our water won awards as the best Canada has. Most folks use distilled. I'm trying that next week.
A real good, cheap way to get a high-voltage CS maker is to recycle a microwave oven. The votage supplied to the magnetron is 4000 volts DC. Once the electrodes are spliced in and the magnetron removed, the unit is safe because you still use the door locks, etc...to stop anyone from touching hot electrodes. And you still get to use the timer, too. Make sure the electrodes are held about 2" spaced apart by say, cut-out plastic lids. My old microwave is a small one, holding a 1.8 liter jar nicely. Makes a jar in 1min 20secs from cool undistilled water. (take precautions- you will be working with a high-voltage capacitor connection) ciao Duncan -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
