Although over 95% is excreted in one way or another, there is no reason to believe that 100% is eliminated. Most ingestion of CS is about the level of the daily dose which has been determined by the FDA as safe to consume over a lifetime. Massive single or continuing doses may result in larger tissue accumulation. The toxicologist was thinking of silver compounds, as these are how silver is normally found. However, many of these compounds dissasociate into silver ions and the associated elements, in the body and, although it is generally the associated element which is toxic, there is reason to believe that the silver from silver salts is no different to the silver from silver colloids in its action in the body. > The agryria scare is a mute issue - no salts or compounds in THIS house > thank-you. Don't bet your skin colour on the belief that only silver salts cause argyria, it is the amount of silver that is ingested that is the determining variable, in my view.
