Yes Joe;

You can use purified water to make colloidal silver.

I would suggest that you data plot several runs recording time on the "X"
axis and current on the "Y" axis, that is if you ar running constant voltage.

If you are running constant current the record the cell voltage on the "Y"
axis.

put part of the CS in a clear coke bottle and put it outdoors in the sun to
see how long it takes to turn yellow, if it does. Keep the other part of the
run in clear coke bottle in subdued light and hold it for a month. This will
provide a partial frame of reference as to the quality of the CS.

I have made several runs using constant current; one with the best DW
available C= 0.22 uS and it turned slight yellow in 5 days and in 10 days it
became cloudy.

The second batch same water but with 15% starter took about 7 days to get a
slight color but it has stayed clear.

To check things out I have placed a constant voltage CS outside to see if it
will color.

HVAC CO2 ARC dose not change color even after several months.

I need to add polarity switching to the test.
