Dear silver-list members,

Note the message below came through the list during the night. I'm
happy to say that the filters I set up caught and stripped it, but Bill
is still going to have to deal with the infection on his machine.

It's obvious now that this will keep happening until every list member
catches up on their e-mail and gets past the messages from the
beginning of last week.

I would *DEARLY* like some of you who have experience disinfecting
this bug to volunteer to help folks that need it? Could you work with
them off-list and report back with the results? I will still be here to
help if needed, but it would take a load of work off my shoulders.

The MTX Trojan installs itself in such a way that it keeps the victim's
browser from going directly to many of the popular anti-virus sites, so
it isn't enough just to post Norton's or McAffee's address.

If some of you can help with this I can keep working on my UNIX skills
and noodling over some of the interesting Smartlist enhancements I came
across during my panic stricken search for answers last week.

Any takers?

Be well,

Mike Devour
