I had the same problem..
There is an 11 page doc. you can download from Norton..
Obviously you are not able to
do this. Anyway here is how you get the updates if you
cannot get them directly from
Norton.
1..go to following internet address....http://www.tucows.com
2..In the  SEARCH SOFTWARE LIBRARY box, type the following
and then click  GO!..
                                                norton dat
3. Locate the entry for win 95/98 click Download Now..
4.. Choose your region and state and then click  GO..
6.. Click the download site nearest you..
7.. When the download is finished , DOUBLE CLICK  the file
that you downloaded to
install it..

Norton will repair most of your files, but will Quarintine 3
of them, and  you have
to re-install these.. form known good ones..
