I've read several times that colloidal copper and zinc are nearly as effective a germ fighter as colloidal silver.....but...have a toxicicity problem that silver does not. Don't recall the source. There was an ion producing solar powered 'float' for swimming pools on the market many years ago selling for $300...very pricy for the time. I assume they used copper ions but the actual metal was not mentioned in the ads. Ken
