Dear Suzy,
DMSO is the acronym for dimethyl
sulfoxide, an exceptionally powerful (non-toxic) solvent made from
by-product chemistry of forestry products. The material was, first,
synthesized in 1866 by a Russian researcher named Alexander Saytzeff.
The first, and most prominent characteristic isolated was its phenomenal
solent attributes. Little attention was paid to DMSO until around 1963
when Dr. Stanley Jacobs and a chemist named Robert Herschler
collaborated on a series of very productive researches.
                                DMSO possesses some very definite,
standalone, advantages as a treatment medium.......especially in the
field of "soft-tissue" insults. Not only is DMSO the pre-eminent
solubilizer/entrainer, but is a superb transporter of the materials it
is capable of entraining.
                                For references of study/information just
type in Stanley Jacobs, using any valid search engine and you should
find both direct information.....and book references.
Good Luck in your personal research
effforts,
                                        Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
