Hi Terri L.,
My wife settled on the margarine "I can't believe its not butter" brand and
thats the best compromise I could get out of her on the butter. It does
contain some dairy buttermilk, but that is the fourth item on the list of
ingredients by volume. So I guess we can't get completely away from dairy
hormones, but at least we're cutting a long way back. Personally, I miss the
ice cream (Breyers) the most! Sigh... Regards: Robert Bartell

Bob,
I like butter, eat it daily(bought from a health food store). I like meat
also, but am allergic to beef but have it on occasion. I say to you "enjoy".
:)

Hi Ole Bob,
Based on recommendations re: my wife's diabetes, we stopped all dairy
products and she has been improving ever since. Haven't given up on beef
though, just cut back on it and eat more pork and chicken and turkey. We
are omnivores! The dairy products and beef that we are talking about ARE
NOT
the same products that you and I grew up with! Since Monsanto Chemical
started selling their crap to the dairy industry .... the products changed
... and the younger generation out there needs to know that. The
cumulative
effects may be slow ... may be insidious - long term!>>
Robert,
I agree... beef and dairy are not what they were 40 yrs ago and its a shame.
You read so much negative information about our food today, antibiotics,
hormones, food chain farm animals being fed meat byproducts, genetically
engineered seeds...TILT! ...it gets to be "too much information". I think
people just tend to ignore as we are creatures of habit/comfort.
I am thankful for my illness in some regards, it has forced me to research
all of this to regain health and prevent future problems. Its the reason I
found this list.
I eat meat and butter, don't plan on giving them up. But milk... no thank
you. Not just because I was weaned along time ago and milk has no nutritional
benefits for humans, causes mucous to form in nasal and throat areas, milk
allergies, etc., but after watching 20/20 or 60 min. and saw a special on
dairy farms and what they strained out of the milk... no way! Not to mention
what they give the cow(hormones/antibiotics) before they milk it and what the
results of that are afterwards due to antibiotic resistant bacteria.
Fast food burgers. Yes, I do have them on a rare occasions but usually get
the chicken(questionable also) After reading somewhere, maybe this list, you
shouldn't eat fried chicken anywhere as its not in the hot oil long enough to
kill whatevers lurking on that chicken. Sorta takes the fun out of "lets get
a quick lunch". Fast food beef has to be on the bottom of the barrel as far
as I'm concerned and I'm sure in the future we are going to start seeing some
health issues surrounding these places.
I personally know of a case in the N.E. states of a man who died from "mad
cow" disease. A long, lingering disease process which made it hard to
diagnose until the end(8 yrs I think). That info was kept in the family. A
fellow from the funeral home told these people that this was the third case
he'd seen, that was a few years ago. Tip of the iceburg?
The upside of all this is, I always have my bottle of CS handy incase any
bugs from this stuff decide to play havic with my system. :)
