It depends. My friend referred to a variety *strange* creatures (I wish she had saved them in formaldehyde.). The remarkable thing is how large & visible they were; MOST parasitic worms are too small to see. However, I once had a sereis of colonics that produced a profusion of things that looked like grains of rice.
