I know of two cases where a standard 9 volt Hulda Clark type zapper
caused distress in use. A three year old boy with lots of minor
respiratory and ear/nose/throat problems and a female adult with a
galaxy of problems including candida. The little boy was treated by
wrapping the handles in dry cotton cloth and connected by pushing the
covered handles for and aft in his trouser. The adult could use the
zapper due to immediate zapper induced nausea. Swapping the handles
caused a minor reduction in discomfit. She was able to use the zapper if
a 1" gap existed between the handles and her self. She treated by
sitting with the handles next to her on the seat seat!! My guess is that
there is a field effect.

Note that the zapper has a 1000 ohm resister in line which will reduce
the maximum current to 0.009 Amp (9 milliamp)
