I knew a woman who died of K-Jacobs disease.(age 60) She died a few months after her diagnosis from the Mayo clinic, though her daughter said she had memory problems off and on for years. She was a world traveler but resided in the US. Does anyone know if it is researched whether the infection is spread after numerous exposure to prion infected products or is this a one time eat a small nugget of infected food type of problem. Is there not a genetic tendency. If I had not seen this myself, I would not have believed how rapid the deteriation was.-Going on during the Oprah controversy, no less.
