Hi Edith I take it to strengthen my heart output, the difference I notice is when I don't take it. There are prescription drugs that will do the same thing but they all have side effects of one sort or another, CoQ doesn't and is compatible with any thing else. But it's good for a lot more than just your heart. Serita
