It is possible to electrically oscillate a load with an intervening arc gap without an arc appearing at the gap. I have done this with grounded argon tubes that dimly light from an arc gap subjected to high voltage, even though no arcing appeared at the arc gap. These gaps however were made having a miniscule air gap between long copper bars, thus the arc gap device itself consists of a miniscule capacity. Concerning CS I am unexperienced but since this seems unusual I thought to drop an analogy.
