Dear Frances Jo,
Several years ago (1997) during rather extensive
evaluations of arthritic articulating-joints and "soft-tissue" insults, we
discovered some interesting circumstances. Most "bursitis-type" expressions
presented as a result of either "radiating-type" inflamations......companion to
the primary joint distress; or from contusions/distortions/bruises of the
soft-tissue itself. Our most interesting discovery was the revelation that a
majority of these "bursitis-type" afflictions (excepting trauma-induced cases),
were suffering from tissue dehydration (as was the joint itself). While not
specifically age-related, the incidence of cell dehydration expressed
increasingly.....as the ages of the volunteers increased (especially beyond 50
years).
After making this discovery, we evaluated the effects of re-hydration used in
concert with a number of complimentary protocols (e.g.. Cetyl Myristoleate,
Gluscosamine Sulphate, Chondroitin Sulphate, Enzymatically Hydrolyzed Collagen
and MSM, administered in varying combinations to volunteers--- internally; plus
modified DMSO solutions---externally}
All protocols were, to some degree, beneficial. However, the simple addition of
copious quantities of pure water.......greatly magnified (sometimes 250%) the
efficacy of these protocols. It is of consequence to note that in some cases it
took 12 to 15 days to re-hydrate satisfactorily (re-hydrating interior cell
structures properly is quite different from re-hydrating interstial
environments.) The notable exception being in those cases involving MSM. MSM,
at 10 grams per day taken with 80 ounces of water, had DRAMATIC effect in
accelerating re-hydration.....sometimes effecting proper fluid exchange between
cells and surrounding environment---within 2 days, with associated pain
distress
relieved even earlier.
There is a "layman friendly" little book by an Iranian-born
M.D., which does a splendid job of elaborating on the powerful effects of
keeping
the body hydrated properly. It is entitled "Your Body's Many Cries For Water".
My staff assistant tells me it is available at Amazon Books.
This post has, already, exceeded my original intent. For some, more
explicit, protocol descriptions.....I refer you to the Silver-List Archives.
Many of our most knowledgeable members have made very useful posts on these
matters.
                            Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
