Some years ago, while addressing a special
problem (military-based) posed by a "specific" requirement........I and
another colleague devised a rather interesting approach for addressing
pathogenically-contaminated air.. The requirement was for an economical
means of controlling pathogenic forms for limited air-flows (
approximately 5 cubic feet per minute). The most successful, from among
several approaches, turned out to be the implementation of a "bubbling"
scheme.....wherein the air-to-be-treated was, simply, bubbled through
(from near the bottom of the fluid container) a mild solution of CS [
about 10 ppm], using a sintered dispersor (stone or metallic substance
with myriad interstitial spaces). The results were splendid. This
research was quite successful in establishing an effective
proof-of-concept.
Mitigating circumstances precluded a commercial-scale
effort involving this, particular, protocol.
I thought this "idea" might prove stimulating to
some of the more adventurous/inquisitive types on the list.
Sincerely,
Brooks Bradley.
