I also have Mac OS, there is no icon in the task bar, but if you have auto protect enabled, and do regular updates, there shouldn't be a problem. I just downloaded the live update, and ran the scan/repair program, and nothing came up...some of the viruses work more on PC systems, and knock on wood, none of the viruses that have been circulating have ever affected my computer. If you ever do software installation, you will know that auto protect is on since a warning will come up. If it is not on, go into the application and turn it on, it is in the tool bar under preferences. The only time I turn it off is when doing a software installation where it might interfere with the installation (sometimes with stuff that are stuffed with Stuffit) and this is also temporarily disabled if you reboot with the extensions off (shift key held down as you are starting up). You can also check under the apple menu- control panels - extension manager, the NAV auto protect extension should be checked. The other thing is if you are using OE, go to the "edit" and look for "find" - I do this, then delete any questionable emails from any person whose emails might be carrying a virus. Better safe than sorry, and you can always read the email in the archives. Beth
