Subject: Re: CS>DMSO worries....
Dear Jules,
I will attempt to address your question
through the following explanations.
However, before I address the issue of possible toxicity, I
wish to make an observation relative to the unbridled attacks taken against
DMSO...demonizing it as a virtual pariah in chemical clothing. Both I and
several staff members, have, during the past several years, observed posts by
several different individuals proclaiming "dire threats" against human
health---resplendent with direct (but undocumented) claims of liver and kidney
afflictions. I hereby go on record to the extent that ----neither I, nor any
of our staff, have during the past nine years of research involving
DMSO....become aware of a SINGLE fatality due to the effects of DMSO. This, in
light of the millions of people world-wide, who have utilized this substance
both internally and externally.........for the past 35 years. A contention
shared by Dr. Stanley Jacob.
I will not dignify such irresponsible statements as your
tormentor issued......by offering such blatant ignorance any form of
explanation. All persons (we have had any correspondence with) who have made
such scurrilous statments, have in EVERY case failed to supply a SINGLE
authoritative study substantiating such untruths. I am not contending that
there are not instances where compromising consequences arose from protocols
involving DMSO as a participant----just that WE are unaware of them.
As I am sure you are aware, anyone can say almost
anything on the Internet (that is not directly libelous) without fear of being
brought to consequences. In your own case, I would just politely ask for the
person's substantiating citations which bulwark his comments.
Having to consume useful time and effort to rebut the
effects of such inflamatory nonsense always dismays me. But duty demands I
must.
The modus I choose is to give you a quote from none
other that the acknowledged world-class "expert" relative to the use, effects
and SAFETY, of DMSO----Stanley Jacob, M.D. Dr. Jacob has made an intensive
study...and implementation of DMSO over the past 35 years. In the face of
overwhelming evidence to the contrary, the FDA...to this day....has refused to
endorse DMSO....suggesting that it "may have LONG-TERM side effects in
humans". This in face of
the fact that we know of NO currently approved (within the past 35 years) FDA
drug which has been utilized by even a fraction of this extensive a
population----BEFORE BEING APPROVED.
I will shorten this diatribe by quoting a passage
from Robert Herschler and Dr. Jacob's own book "DMSO, The Pain KIller".
Starting on page 124: "I don't blame anybody for being cautious about any new
substance, says Stanley Jacob, "and this includes DMSO. But we have to look at
the record. No drug that I know of has been subjected to more studies designed
to determine how safe it is, and the bottom line is: in nearly twenty years,
with millions of people using DMSO throughout the world, there has yet to be
one well-document instance of DMSO producing a lethal toxic effect. I've been
taking DMSO myself nearly every day since 1963. I've given it to my chlidren.
I'm not saying that DMSO doesn"t have side effects," he explains. "There is no
drug that doesn't have some side effects. But the side effects of DMSO are
very mild compared to most other drugs---including aspirin. I will match the
safety record of DMSO against any therapeutic substance in medicine"
I hope my prejudicial comments have been of
some value to your ruminations over your dilema.
Sincerely, Brooks
Bradley.

Guys,
I'd like to try some of the DMSO based protocols I've seen here for various
maladies....BUT - I want to know why I should use a chemical solvent that
is
known, based on the MSDS, to cause liver and kidney damage? I've heard
good
reports, but I need some reassurance. Brooks, please comment! (Everyone
else
too)
May the best of what you wish for be the worst of what you get,
Jules
