What I've read about Foot in Mouth Disease is that it's purely an economic problem. It doesn't kill animals and it doesn't affect humans, but it makes the animals smaller and the meat production therefore less profitable. They are slaughtering herds in Britain to keep the disease from spreading to other markets. That's it. So, yes, it's economic warfare, but has there ever been any other kind?
