Dear List, My daughter will be getting braces soon. The choices are titanium or " good old painful stainless steel."- apparently the titanium version DOES NOT have to be tightened because it eases into place according to the orthodontist..Does anyone know which of these choices have less of a leaching effect? They also use poly-saphire for retainers. Does anyone know anything about these compounts and metals and their safety? Titanium is significantly more expensive. Thank you for your help! Janet
