Yes, my son signed up for AOL a few years ago.  He used a credit card
that he had just received and had never been used before.  Within 3
hours he got a call from the bank asking if he was trying to wire $500
or so with Western Union on that card number.  He had to cancel the card
and also cancelled AOL as well.

That is one reason I always throw away the free CDs that AOL sends me.
They say it is free, but you have to give them a credit card number
anyway, and no telling what will happen after you do that.
