Ringworm is a fungus like athletes foot that generally grows from a
central infection site outwards.  The edges of the infection have a
slightly swollen reddish appearance while the center tends to look more
normal...thus the name "ring" worm.
 It itches. It reponds best [for me] to anti fungal sprays...gone in a
couple of days.
