While some praise urine consumption as a cure-all, some Thai doctors warn the practice could be harmful despite the various nutrients in urine. "Besides the presence of these useful substances ... urine contains toxic waste, bacteria and germs which are removed naturally from the system," Seree Tuchina, director general of Thailand's Department of Medical Services, was quoted as saying.
