Judy,

The only situation I've ever heard of was one member, a couple years
back, who had been using a commercial product and getting better from
whatever condition she was dealing with, and then tried switching to CS
she had started making herself.

Her reaction to her first dose of the new home-made CS sounded like an
intense Herxheimer reaction or possibly the shock-like symptoms you
might get if exposed to something you are intensely allergic to:
sudden dizziness, nausea, tunnel vision, all the symptoms of suddenly
lowered blood pressure. The rate of onset was virtually instantaneous
after consuming a smallish dose and the severity such that she was
quite frightened.

The mystery is just why it happened... Either the commercial prep was
*not* potent and she'd never actually had silver before, or her
home-made was drastically more effective or otherwise different
somehow, or it was entirely a coincidence. Her doctor told her she was
allergic to it and told her to stop taking CS, which she did.

No followup was possible. She didn't have any more of the commercial
prep to have any tested, plus it was a brand that others had been
using with good results. Understandably, she was reluctant to attempt
a second dose! Her CS was the typical low ppm LVDC stuff many of us
make, as I recall.

That's the only case I know of. Worrisome but not conclusive.

I generally suggest people I talk to start out with one *very* small
dose for the first time -- something like a few drops -- just to make
sure they can tolerate it well.

Hope that helps.

Mike D.
