Greetings Silver List participants! I've been watching quietly as our population has grown over the last couple of weeks. We're closing in on 350 members again, which is getting near our high water mark...
Apparently our list has been recommended to folks on some of the alternative health lists for cats, so we've met several new members coming from the perspective of animal care. Welcome to you! We're getting quite a bit of traffic right now, and that's pleasing, but I'd like to remind us all where the limits are, so we can manage this growth without problems. This is especially for those of you who are still getting the feel of the list, and for any "old timers" who may need reminding... <grin> Our main purpose is to learn, and spread the word, about colloidal silver. We've got a "brain trust" here of CS experimentalists and users who can help you get past the disinformation and hype that surround the discussion of CS in unmoderated forums. I encourage questions of the "Does CS work for..." or, even, "Does anybody know of anything for..." sort. Answers to these kinds of questions, whether they're directly related to CS or not, have made this list a valuable learning tool for all of us. The only distinction I make is that non-CS related answers and discussions should be kept brief, or go to private e-mail or other forums as soon as basic curiosity is satisfied and key resources have been pointed out. In fact, we've got a ready-made forum for such off-topic but interesting discussions, if you choose to use it. You can join the [email protected] by visiting: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/silver-off-topic-list It's not been a high volume group of late, but is always available for those hard-to-resist discussions that really deserve to go on longer. As always, there are other things that come up, like Biblical and esoteric speculations on gold, or outer space bacteria, or the inevitable nudges at politics, that are not particularly relevant to CS or alternative health. A certain amount of such "noise" is important to keeping the list alive, but letting ourselves get too far afield hurts people who come here for information and guidance. I will sometimes act to rein in such topics on a case-by-case basis, but I basically depend on each of you to consider the impact of your own contributions. Please continue to act responsibly.
