I need to do a little searching for the references that have me in two minds, Roger. I have no problem with your experiment, other than wondering if well or spring water might alter the result.
Note also, that the quote from silverlon was comparing two similar products, and it was stated that the other product, subjected to a water flow of 3ml per minute, produced both silver ions and particles plus some contaminants, whereas the silverlon product was soaked in a solution that approximated biological fluids, and produced only silver ions. I am still not convinced that metallic silver does not dissolve to some degree in water Ivan: At the risk of covering old ground ("That old chestnut again"), specifically, what is your objection to my experiments and conclusion that pure silver and certain silver copper alloys do not dissolve silver in DW?
