The PPM readings drop over night due to ions agglomerating into particles. Therefore, some of the ionic content converts to colloidal content. Colloidal particles do not conduct electricity. Only ionic content conducts electricity and the meter reads only conductance.
Slight yellow CS is still OK but dropping the current and increasing water motion will help to make the stronger CS with particles small enough for the sol to be colorless. Personally, I'd not exceed 2 ma. It takes more time but the results are better.
