This is for those of us wanting to figure PPM CS without access to a testing
facility, known PPM CS, or one of those PWT meters. Judging from most reports,
home-made CS, whether LVDC or HVAC, is primarily ionic. Thus PMM and
conductivity should be more-or-less directly proportional. But how to figure
the conversion factor? Can anyone supply a reliable conductivity equivalence
between an assumed ionic CS solution of X PPM to that of a saline solution of
Y PPM (or gm/l) NaCl? This would then allow anyone with a cheap DMM attached to
any convenient fixed arrangement of paired wires to figure PPM. Answers
gratefully received.
