CS Friends, Since the topic is presented here, in defense of my many, peace loving Muslim friends I must chime in to agree with Thelma. In fact, the particularly brutal form of female circumcision practiced in Sudan and parts of Egypt is referred to as 'Pharohnic Infibulation,' indicating the practice goes back to the Pharohs and earlier. Reid P.S. My Muslim friends and I agree that neither Jesus nor Muhammed said a single word exhorting their followers to fight for their religion. The notions of crusade and jihad are the ideas of later, false prophets. R
Thelma said: FYI: Female circumcision is a cultural practice in some cultures, as male circumcision is here. Just as male circumcision is not a "Christian" practice, female circumcision is not a "Muslim" practice. Let's keep the current politics of religion out of this, please. There's enough misinformation about Islam out there. -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
