Bill, There are generally three ways to measure the ppm of silver, Two measure the ionic portion only and the other will measure everything.
1.) The Ion Specific Electrode (ESI) will measure ionic silver only. Ivan in Australia has one. 2.) The spectrophotometer will measure only ionic silver. It is a color metric method that is used in industry. I believe that there are three owned by people on the list but to my knowledge I am only one that does it for other people. 3.) Atomic Adsorption will measure everything. Any other method is an approximation, but if enough data is obtained then reasonable results can be expected, but not to the same degree of accuracy as the above mentioned tests.
