No, it is just such a stupid idea to chop down a perfectly good tree, drape
junk all over it, leave it in the house for a while, then dump it on the
sidewalk, where maybe it`ll get composted, more likely to help
fill up the dump.

I tend to agree with you but for different reasons. Christmas trees cost money, and one has to spend more money
to put gifts under the tree.

   They also present fire hazards.

However they have other uses after Christmas. I used to sink hundreds of them for fish structure. They work very good for that and last several years, depending on the material used to secure them to the weights.

This is DUMB!!!!

   Gee, that is not the only think that modern man does that is dumb.

Of course TREES are a renewable resource, like, fish, deer, chickens and humans.

   At this point in time,  population control might be a good subject.

   Statistics only apply to others, never to us,  right?

With the proper use of CS, we may not become a statistic of population control. ( otherwise called terrorism )
