Fantastic Marshall! I'm glad someone said it. I went around with Dr. Quack a few years ago... However, I was wise enough to his kind of game that I didn't take the bait he was laying out for me. Instead I simply played a queen's gambit, so to speak. Shortly thereafter, having seen his true nature, I withdrew. After all, if you are hanging in a snake pit, eventually you are going to get bitten.
I was questioning his attack on the Gerson Institute's use of clay therapy. I was quite extensive in questioning why he felt he had the authority to make such a judgement - what were his qualifications to do so? In fact, he didn't even know the first thing about it. He probably wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between clay and mud. He was using the single FDA neonatal tetanus example as a club for a personal strike against the Gerson Institute. Finally, he "demanded" that if there was futher information that he needed to review about such therapies, that I should basically either forward it to him or silence myself. Well... I grew up studying Larry Evans Chess. I could smell the stench of the trap he was laying. Instead, I directed him to the UCLA studies that had been conducted ( that's the Queen's Gambit ), which he promptly ignored while continuing to propagate what can only be called false propaganda. My conclusion was that he was neither capable nor interested in any real research. He demonstrated to me personally that he was only interested in clubs. Since that time, I've watched with glee every single court battle loss that he's faced. I hope he maintains, somehow, his prominence as a "QuackWatch" because he is single-handedly making a fool out of the entire medical profession he claims to represent. The only sadness lies in the people who just accept the information on his website. He's good, I'll give him credit: Very good at twisting words. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marshall Dudley" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 05, 2001 3:23 PM Subject: Re: CS>Is anything on QuackWatch True ? > I think their site can be great for finding things that work.
